Was up before everyone left. It's hard to sleep whilst the Tinsley's are getting ready in the mornings!
Usual routine - painkillers, wait, Morcambe and Wise, shower, dress, breakfast, stockings(!). This morning included some new exercises! Irene had told me to wait until the 5th to start these - ooh, progress! There are 7 sets to do 3 times a day for 6 weeks. These are to get my arm working normally, or in my case back to how it was pre-op. After breaking my elbow last year, it's never been back to normal. It's quite strange really as this time last year I was off sick with that! Beginning to make a habit of this!
Had some more cards this morning, one of which made me howl (thanks Auntie M) - an old couple, him sat on the computer telling his wife he'd just blogged. She's there frowning, with a thought bubble saying "and they were clean on this morning". It just tickled me.
The afternoon saw my friend, S, arrive (I know lots of S's!). She'd arrived back off holiday that morning and wanted to see I was ok. She looks fabulous. Lovely to hear about it all and to bring her up to speed with me. Dad D arrived not long after and after a brief chat, he went to pick the boys up from school.
Chris did tea and most of the evening was spent listening to the boys who seemed to have verbal diarrhoea and didn't know when to shut up. A plea for help from L at work got my brain in gear and I emailed back with a few suggestions (made me feel useful).
Tomorrow sees another clinic day. One that will be full of mixed emotion I fear. I should have my dressings taken off and the fluid drained, which will be a relief. Although, I fear I should've gone sooner to sort the fluid out as it appears to have leaked through one of the dressings. Maybe the new exercises have prompted that? Anyway can't do anything about it now, just have to wait until tomorrow afternoon. Also we should get some more results from the analysis of the mastectomy and lymph nodes. I'm hoping we will be told what and when the next course of treatment will be.
One day at a time.........
