Mum did her usual excursion to the bakery in Corsham, so we had cranberry and nut loaf toasted for breakfast - mmmm, lovely.
Checked Mum's red spot and decided it was looked a little bigger. She wondered if there was anyone who could have a quick look at it. My mind decided it was still mush, so wondered what to do. If I didn't, then I knew someone who would, so I texted a friend for advice. Catherine rang back whilst I was in the shower (usual palaver) and spoke to Mum, who was unaware of the communication. She suggested that it may be a good idea to get it looked at if we were worried. This entailed registering Mum as a temporary resident at the surgery where I work and getting her in to see one of the docs. An appointment was booked for midday, so Mum changed into a skirt and I made sure my comfy was secure in Frances!
I have to say that it was a bit overwhelming going into work so soon after my op, lots of caring, concerned faces.
The doc was brill with Mum (as usual - thank you!) and she appreciated his explanations and thorough examination. Although, she was mortified that I'd made an appointment - she was here to look after me not be a burden (as if!!). He thought the mark could be a bite but was eager we keep an eye on it, in case it got worse. Had she been staying longer he would've liked to review her on Monday. As she's going back on Friday, we'll watch for changes and she can see her own GP on Monday if necessary. Once he'd checked I was ok and had everything I needed, we left (again - thank you).
A trip to Sainsbury's followed where I sat in the car, pathetically tired! Lunch followed and then it was time for Mum to pick the boys up.
Fran felt a bit tight in the evening, so as per my usual routine, I whipped her off and changed into my pyjamas. I did notice, however, that there were a couple of areas of swelling near my underarm. Irene and Jenny had warned me that there probably would be a build up of fluid and that it would need to be drained off. Perhaps, I should ring Irene to check in the morning? No question, according to Mum, I was ringing Irene in the morning!
Was in pain and uncomfortable today, so have decided to try the Diclofenac again, alongside the Paracetamol and we'll see how we get on with that combination!
